HP Pavilion Notebook N9S82EA#ACB
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Upgraded recently Windows 10 64-bit from Home to Pro to enable BitLocker: receive an error "The BIOS did not correctly communicate with the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). Contact the computer manufacturer for BIOS upgrade instructions".

I did update BIOS to the latest version, still same error. TPM is up and running. Any suggestions?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

I suggest you update the BIOS from this Link: https://hp.care/2MznadV

Also, clear the TPM cache

  1. Open the TPM MMC  by typing tpm.msc in the service box

  2. If the User Account Control dialogue box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Yes.

  3. Under Actions, click Clear TPM.

  4. You will be prompted to restart the computer. During the restart, you might be prompted by the UEFI to press a button to confirm that you wish to clear the TPM.

  5. After the PC restarts, your TPM will be automatically prepared for use by Windows 10.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello. Thank you. Yes, before posting this issue, I installed BIOS F.53 Rev.A, and cleared TPM both in Windows and BIOS--that did not help.

No success and no progress so far. BTW, upgrading to latest BIOS F.54 Rev.A released June 18, 2019, did not help.

Any help / suggestions from the community would be highly appreciated.

BitLocker won't start even bypassing TPM requirement through a Group Policy change (Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > BitLocker Drive Encryption > Operating System Drives > Require additional authentication at startup). Same error.
