Hi @shushu24,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're describing—an automatic repair message followed by a black screen with a turning circle—usually indicates a problem with the operating system or the hard drive. Here’s how you can troubleshoot.

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop completely by holding the power button for 10 seconds.
  2. Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external monitors, etc.).
  3. Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  4. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
  5. Reconnect the power adapter (leave the battery out if it's removable) and turn the laptop back on.

Boot into Safe Mode

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately press the F8 or Shift + F8 key repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  3. Select Safe Mode.
  4. If you can boot into Safe Mode, try the following:
    • Run a disk check: Open Command Prompt and type:
  • chkdsk /f /r
    • Uninstall any recent updates that might be causing the issue:
      • Go to Control Panel > Programs > View Installed Updates and uninstall the latest updates.

Perform a Startup Repair

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly to access Recovery Options.
  3. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.
  4. Let the system attempt to repair the issue.

Run System Restore

  1. Boot into the Recovery Options using F11 as described above.
  2. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore.
  3. Choose a restore point before the issue began and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check for Hardware Issues

  1. Press F2 or Esc immediately after powering on the laptop to access the HP Diagnostics tool.
  2. Run a Quick Test or System Test, especially on the hard drive and memory.
  3. If the diagnostics find hardware issues, you may need to replace the affected component.

Reinstall Windows

If none of the above steps work, consider reinstalling Windows:

  1. Create a bootable Windows USB drive using the Media Creation Tool on another PC.
  2. Insert the USB into your laptop and boot from it (press Esc or F9 to access the boot menu).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Windows.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
