Hi,

Facing this issue since an year but could not find any solution. After few mins of inactivity, screen doesn't come up, and I have to force restart my laptop ( around 10 times a day). Is this a piece of junk which I bought?

So far I tried:

1. Hp updates up-to-date

2. Windows up-to-date

3. Disabled quick start (or something like this)

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

This video shows how to adjust the power options including the screen off time. Check the time your screen is set to power off after.

I wish it was that straight forward.

I can see many threads on the same issue and seems its happening with hp laptops only. For now, I have made the display to remain on forever - worst workaround ever. My first and last (expensive :() buy from hp.

If that is working, though not an ideal solution you could try something else. There are power saving options in the bios setup, you could try changing some of them.  I'm not familiar with that laptop but it sounds like a power saving issue linked to keeping the temperature down perhaps?
