Hi @prakashkumarlap, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The black screen with the Caps Lock blinking 1-2-3 times on your HP Notebook 15-db1060au indicates a hardware failure. Based on HP’s blink codes, here's what each sequence means:

1 Blink (CPU Failure)

  • The processor might be damaged or improperly seated.

2 Blinks (BIOS Corruption)

  • The BIOS might be corrupted and needs recovery.

3 Blinks (Memory/RAM Failure)

  • The RAM might be loose, faulty, or incompatible.

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1: Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the charger (without the battery) and try turning it on.

Step 2: Reseating RAM

  1. Turn off the laptop and remove the charger and battery.
  2. Open the RAM compartment.
  3. Remove and reinsert the RAM properly.
  4. Try booting again.

Step 3: BIOS Recovery (for 2 Blinks)

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Win + B, then press and hold the Power button for a few seconds.
  3. Release the Power button but keep holding Win + B until you hear a beep or see the BIOS recovery screen.

Step 4: External Display Test

  1. Connect the laptop to an external monitor using HDMI.
  2. Check if there is any display output.
    • If there is, the internal display might be faulty.
    • If there is no output, the issue might be more serious.
  • If the above steps don’t work and the Caps Lock blinks once, the processor might be damaged. This requires motherboard repair or replacement. You may visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you further.
