hello, I have HP Pavilion Laptop 14-dv0603sa (2z6y8ea)

Old hard drive has gone, installed new. I am unable to change boot order to usb flash drive, it makes beep. Not sure what to do.

Hi:

 

You shouldn't need to change the boot order.

 

Have the USB flash drive plugged into your notebook's USB port.

 

Turn on or restart the PC.

 

Immediately tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

 

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the Windows USB installation flash drive and press the Enter key.

 

The PC should boot from the USB flash drive.

I have tried that. But it only says "Please select boot device". I tried all the arrow keys etc, it does not show option to install anything. Thank you for your help

Unfortunately, I don't know what the problem could be if you made a USB installation flash drive with the Microsoft Media creation tool.
