Hi @eketman,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your laptop’s camera is not appearing in Device Manager. Let’s go through a few steps to check what might be causing this.

a. Check Camera Privacy Settings

Press Windows + I to open Settings.

Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.

Make sure Camera Access and Allow apps to access your camera are turned On.

b. Show Hidden Devices in Device Manager

Press Windows + X > Device Manager.

Click on View > Show Hidden Devices.

Check under Cameras, Imaging Devices, or Sound, video and game controllers.

If the camera is still not visible, continue with the next steps.

c. Enable Camera via BIOS/UEFI Settings

Restart your laptop and repeatedly press Esc/F10/F2 (depending on model) to enter BIOS.

Go to Advanced or Security settings.

Make sure Integrated Camera / Internal Webcam is Enabled.

Press F10 to Save & Exit.

d. Run Hardware Scan from HP Support Assistant

Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from HP’s website if not installed).

Go to Troubleshooting and Fixes > Camera/Audio/Video Tests.

Run the test and follow the instructions.

e. Reset Windows Camera Drivers

Press Windows + X > Device Manager.

Expand System Devices. Look for Intel(R) Imaging Signal Processor or Camera Sensor drivers.

If found, right-click and select Uninstall Device, then restart the laptop.

Windows will reinstall default drivers automatically.

f. Check Windows Services for Camera Support

Press Windows + R, type services.msc, press Enter.

Make sure Windows Camera Frame Server is set to Running and Automatic.

If it’s stopped, right-click > Start.

I hope this helps.
