Want to know if I am able to install Win 7 Pro on a HP-15.6-A12-8GB-1TB-Laptop? Don't want Win 10!
Thanks in advance for any assistance with this question.
P.S. Sorry to have doubled up.

You should be able to, but you will need to get most of the W7 drivers directly from the individual hardware component manfacturer's websites (AMD, Realtek).

You're very welcome, John.
Check the BIOS to see if it has a legacy mode setting, which if enabled, should disable secure boot.
You are correct...W7 is not compatible with secure boot.
See this link for more info regarding enabling legacy mode and disabling secure boot...

I haven't purchased this laptop yet. Don't wish to spend the money until I know for sure I can get it to function with Win 7 Pro.
They have what I believe is one of this model on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0757XL869/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza for $419.00. Sounds like a reasonable price, but don't wish to waste $400. :smileywink:

Since I don't own that model notebook, unfortunately I would have no idea what the BIOS settings look like.
It should have a setting to disable secure boot, but I am not going to bet your $400 bucks that it 100% for sure has it.

Thanks Paul. Ya know, you are probably right on the legacy BIOS. But, I think I'll wait until someone that may have a similar laptop to maybe drop by and post something for sure.
I appreciate all your help.
Have a great day!
