Can I update my HP 15-g078nr Notebook PC to Windows 10

Your model laptop came originally with Win8.1, not the Linux OS you claim it is running now.

 

The good news is that Win8.1 PCs generally fair quite well when being Updated to Win8.1.  The bad news is that the Update expects to see the prior OS on the PC so it can REUSE the product key, and with yours running Linux, it will not see that.

 

Additionally, you can't actually "update" from Linux -- as in changing the OS but keeping data, settings and apps -- but instead, you would need to do a clean install, and since you have no way to retrieve the embedded product key using Linux, you have no way of activating Win10 without buying the license on your own.
