Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi i recently bought Hp 15-dw2006ni i3, i am unbale to boot from usb and upgrade to windows 10 pro as the device came with Home Edition installed upon purchase.

2ndly, last i tried to upgrade the windows to the last windows 10 update... I succeded but could not get the option to choose which windows version i want. It only upgraded the windows but still stuck at theWindows 10 Home Edition. And lately when am using the laptop it'll eventually freeze, I'd get the "SMART DISK ERROR" and sometimes "Boot Device Can't be found"... The device came with a 1tb ssd, can i get help on how to fix both these issues??

Hi:

In order to upgrade from W10 Home to W10 Pro, you don't need to actually install W10 Pro.

If you boot from the installation media, all you will get is W10 Home again, because that is the product key that W10 will automatically find in the BIOS.

See the info at the link below for how to upgrade from Home to Pro.

Upgrade Windows Home to Windows Pro (microsoft.com)

The other problems...run the hard drive diagnostics test (F2) and see what it reports.

If you are getting a 24-character failure code, it normally means the drive is failing and will need to be replaced.
