Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP 15-dy1023dx had an Optane 256g drive. I used an external drive clone, and cloned it to a 1TB Samsung. It doesn't boot.

IT HAD BOOTED from the 256G when I put it back in, but now it won't boot from the original drive and I have INCOMPLETE OPTANE VOLUME in the BIOS

I see all the data when I put the 1TB into a USB interface, if I use EaseUS to browse but DOES NOT auto assign a Drive Letter.

Thoughts?

Hi:

I think the configurations are too different for that to work.

I recommend that if you have now switched to a standard NVMe SSD, that you disable the Intel Optane memory in the BIOS if such a setting exists and use the HP cloud recovery tool to reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

For the Intel Optane, see the next to the last section at the link below.

For the cloud recovery tool see this link:

OK Cloud Recovery says this laptop is not supported? PROD-ID 7WR6OUA#ABA

Isn't there an option somewhere to make the new drive bootable? All the directory structure is there, and it shows as a GPT drive

Your notebook is supported by the cloud recovery tool.

You entered a letter 'O' instead of a zero.
