I will cut to the chase here ...

I in my retail search and choice bought a X360 2in1 laptop, extra memory etc .... £1200 GBP !!!!!

between 1-2 months of warranty expiring (plus latest bios and updates) she died completley !!

As i am a system engineer of over 25 yrs and based in a world i cant say i was more than qualified to examine (as the warrany had paased) what the issue was ...

I have concluded that between the last bios thet HP software said i had to update along with the fact the OS when i bought it was win 11 22h2 had upgraded to 23h2 had killed my x360

apparently the battery was degradd but was 100% before the upgrade - My power adapter stopped showing a white light, she completley died !!

So

Upon removal of the base i removed the battery pack .... i then (after many attempts to hard reset which failed) because no other key on my keyboard worked except the power button and leaving the laptop to drain for several hours) did i manage to force Qflash and roll back to the previous (as sold bios)

She then breathed again ...

I then factory installed the original OS (win 11 22H2) and there is the lady i paid that money for ....

No battery issues and everything is just fine as i bought her !!

NOW !!

I am now being told (as i refused to go through that pain again) that my version of windows is no longer supported nor can i get 23h2 to install (God forbid) but when i check on HP support there is only support for 22H2 for my x360 ?

i have many questions but i already know the answers i guess ..

1. HP Will not bother to support the x360 15 blah EW05 model past 22h2

Windows will not entertain a machine that is not 23/24H2

Therefore i have spent £1200 on a laptop that HP dont care about and the retailers wanted top money for

Now

In oreder for windows which "I" own as i do the laptop i have to now reinstall win 11 22h4 ?

HP does not give you this option in the support page for this device - and its not EOL !!

HP !!

You shower of what i cant say need to get this sorted otherwise your brand name ( and in my IT world ) is not worth the ink you print on and need to step up !

Email me out of embarrasment if you want but unless you support this device or replace it then your name is worth nowt

Never agaiin - at least i can choose my own mobo / mem / cpu / nvme and sit here telling you this on a machine i built with win 11 24/2 running fine playing the best games etc but your machine (1yr old) and your support for it is disgusting and embarrasing for YOU!

We dont want you in our corporation, dont make home users not buy from you again too !

EDIT - UPDATE...

I was sold my x360 with a years warranty, when it ran out which was just  few months back they offered a package ...  £££££`s spent which i did not do, just noticed tonight the same machine was £799 in a sale from £1200 and then 2 weeks later it is EOL !!

You love taking money and running dont you, so much so you sold the last of the stock you had at half price to then offer a support package for £££s and you wont do anything anyway ? its now EOL at 1.5 yr old ?

Shame on you

Learn your lessons guys n gals ..Raise a ticket and you get a script - depending on the issue its the same response, they dont care they have your money.

Take care and think about it or look through other posts, cheaper to pay someone to post scripts that to replace or support what your money paid for ;0)

@Bosher

You bought a machine today, with luck, its value would be around 50% next month. Vendors have new products every second week and producing new computers is much cheaper to support older computers.

Machines run Windows 11 23H2 should be able to run Windows 11 24H2, the most hiccup is sound the rest should run without problems. No need to order Windows 11 because the product license is embedded in BIOS, you simply download Windows 11 from Microsoft then install to your machine.

I have 3 HP machines (two 6 years old and one 5 years old) that why I bought a 4th one before Xmas 2023. They all run Windows 11 24H2 now.

Regards.

I Hear you ...

I have  3 HP`s too ... At home

At Work ...

SAN = about £75K

Support package circa £5k

Many DL360/380`s

Support again many £££

The SAN Died only 2 yrs old ....

HP sent an engineer that had to be cleared to be near it --- he was there a week and could not recover a key that was needed for all the drives in the faild SAN to be accepted and work in the new SAN ?

What was the point of the support package and the engineer who could not recover what he did the day before ?

Again ... ?

Why sell a product with a years warrany in black friday when its obsolete 3 weeks later and then still have the audacity to offer  extended warranty when its EOL ?

I think this thread is done now

Cheers HP
