Hi,

I switched on my Laptop today to find a blank screen and the only signs of life to be the power light and a blinking CAPS LOCK LED.  It blinks slowly 3 times, then blinks quickly a further 2 times.  The advice I've had thus far is to attempt a BIOS flash, which sounds like a reasonable place to start; but when I download the update to another system and attempt to run it it appears to run the installation somewhat and then it simply stops and nothing seems to happen.  It should allow me to install and then give me the option to create the USB BIOS flash, but it doesn't.
I have attempted this on 2 sAny suggestions

IF you look through the linked info, you will see that code is Memory, not BIOS:  https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001
