Hi:

You can reinstall W10 for free by making bootable installation media using the Media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

When you get to the part of the installation process that asks you to enter a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

I reinstalled Win 10 or updated and it will not update. The previous version is 1809 and the updated is 1909. Was thinking that there may not be enough memory with only 4gb.

I am currently sitting with blue screen and X:\windows\system32> prompt.

Have a 32 gb flashdrive but not where to go from here.

Unfortunately, I don't know either, which is why I suggested you reinstall W10 by making the bootable installation media.

If you need to recover important files, do not delete or format any partitions and let Windows install over the existing Windows partition and it will create a Windows.old folder.

After W10 installs, you can explore the Windows.old folder, find your old user profile, and copy and paste the folders/files you want from the old profile to the new one.

The media you make will be for the newest version of W10.

Your other option would be to order W8.1 with Bing recovery media from HP at the link below.

Using recovery media will delete all of your files though.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/mediaorder/HP-15-f000-Notebook-PC-series/7137590/model/7311084/software...

Then you can upgrade back to W10.
