HP ENVY x360 - 15-w000na (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

After Windows 10 update on my HP ENVY X360 15-W000NA few unrecognised drivers (X7) in DEVICE MANAGER.

Googled & downloaded most of them, however 1 has eluded me:

PCI DEVICE

HARDWARE ID:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_522A&SUBSYS_806C103C&REV_01

or

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_522A&CC_FF0000

DOWNLOAD LINK, WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

ALSO DID TRY HP SUPPORT APP, BUT IT DIDN'T DETECT UNRECOGNISED DRIVERS.

CHEERS

Hi, Stephan:

You need this driver for that device:

Hello

Thank you for prompt reply, your other accepted solutions were very useful too.

Are HP going to update their Online App Programs to recognise unrecognised drivers and advise of correct?

Also wondering why such HP Drivers aren't always listed in the HP Model Support page?

Cheers Stephan

You're very welcome.

Since this is a peer-to-peer forum and we don't work for or represent HP, unfortunately I wouldn't be able to answer your question.

Personally, I have found that HP's support assistant software is usually of little to no help when looking for drivers.

The driver I gave you was listed on your notebook's support page.

Hello

Thanks again.  True the app was no use in unrecognised Drivers, and the Hardware I'd gave me little clue if 1st or 2nd Google suggestion wasn't correct as generally I wouldn't know what the unrecognised drivers was for in terms of make/model.

On the Topic of this Laptop, on trying to replace hard drive. the keyboard area I could unwedge from sides easily, but couldn't dislodge fully, and any more force felt like would crease/bend thin keyboard panel.

I unscrewed all screws from based including those the 4 feet & the other 2 screws under rubber inserts.

The manual only mentions not to dislodge the 3 cable connectors (mouse pad, keypad & back-lit) without undoing from front end as more accessible, but as aforementioned I decided that something else must be preventing keyboard panel from becoming loose.

Any ideas or advise?

Cheers Stephan

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I have no experience taking these newer model notebooks apart that don't have removable doors/panels to access the interior components such as the hard drive, memory etc., so I wouldn't be able to help you with the disassembly procedure.

I couldn't find any YouTube disassembly videos for that model series either.

You may want to start a new post on that subject.

  1. Hello, again I thank you for prompt reply, and plain English.

I also found that all the Utube videos are of those accessing from rear, different variation (easier to get at, at the btm).

The manual pg 38-42 (their pg 28-31?):

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04763031.pdf

The manual makes it look really simple, I can't see where I'm going wrong! Suspect either some retainer, or perhaps sunk/stuck screw bracket.

Apparently just unscrew all the screws from Btm, turn over unwedge keyboard, lift up, u secure 3 connectors from mouse pad area, & remove HDD. But I don't intend to use brute force and break it, as mentioned previously the keyboard doesn't simply lift up as implied.

But at a glance it has a slot in use for SSD and unused SSD M2 slot.  Presuming I could use both at once, makes me wonder if selecting designated drive is simple, but perhaps since M2 fastest it would be that?

I'll start a new post with similar effect.

Cheers Stephan

Yes, according to the manual, you pry the top cover off after removing the cables and the gazillion screws on the bottom.

The M.2 slot supports a SATA M.2 SSD only which would be no faster than a SATA 2.5" SSD.

The faster performing M.2 NVMe SSD's are not supported.

The manual doesn't show that dual drive configurations are supported but such a setup would probably work.

HP may not have offered that type configuration in the model series.

Good luck.

I hope you will be able to figure that puzzle out.

Why can't things be easy?

Cheers,

Paul

Hello

Thanks for your advice.

Appreciate specs vary but have seen a few X360s with 2 drives, but maybe they were Spectre models instead of the Envy Models?

As did already say was reluctant to prise away as going on experiences that generally something on a verge of point break ends with broken device.

Perhaps PC business that works regular on these knows what to look for?  Local business has said will do it for £35, which normally I'd think I could that in minutes but not in this model, but perhaps worth emphasis that only replace drive if can be done without damaging laptop! Again going on experiences have been very surprised at complacency and unprofessional ethics by some businesses, which always makes me wonder how they get any repeat business!

Anyway I doubt I'll have another go at it unless some can comment and resolve on why keyboard is stuck and what is preventing with easy to do/reach to access!

Cheers Stephan
