HP Pavilion - 15-cs0053cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've completed the factory reset on my deceased husband's HP Pavilion, 8th gen, Intel Core i5, model 15-cs0053cl, but the re-boot & reentry of info won't let me past the "confirm your phone number" screen.  I have entered my cell #, his 2 no-longer-in-service (NOIS) #'S, and a NOIS landline #.  I have entered phone numbers in different formats but the constant message is:  "That phone number doesn't look right.  Please check the country code & phone number."

How can I get the laptop to accept a phone number (country code is USA selected from a drop-down menu) and continue with the reboot so this l can use this laptop?

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool and a 32 GB USB flash drive to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Microsoft Store Apps

You will have to use the utility on another PC, so you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.

Your PC's product number is: 3TS79UA#ABA

You will lose all data currently installed on the hard drive by using this method of recovery.
