Hi:

You should be able to use the W7 x64 drivers and software from the 15t-ay000 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-ay000-Notebook-PC-series/10862300/model/115281...

A few of things you will need to do prior to installing W7:

1. Make your set of W10 recovery media.

2.  You will need to go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode and disable secure boot.  W7 is not compatible with secure boot.

3. You will need to run this tool to install the required USB3 drivers into your W7 installation flash drive.  There is a readme file on the link for how to use the tool.

Hi,

At this stage, no Windows 7 drivers as shown:

   http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/10862160/model/122...

But members on this forum would find drivers for your machine.

Regards.

You're very welcome.

As I posted above, you should be able to use the drivers from the ay000.  It has the same hardware as yours does.

HP will not be supporting the 15-AU043CA for any other operating system but W10, or there would have been W7 drivers listed there by now.

Hey paul, I hate to jump on ya on someone elses thread but you seem very knowledgeable about downgrading. Where do you find the detailed hardware lists for models because I'm currently trying to downgrade a HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab161nr.
