Hello,

This is a following up of the previous question about Boot Device Not Found (3F0).

Becuase of that issue I looked for HP repair centre unfortunatly all those nearby are for fixing printers only. Therefore I found a local handyman to help diagnosed the laptop and concluded that was the failure on SSD. The SSD was then replaced with a new one and with Windows 10 installed. However, the built-in  micro SD reader is not working. I checked system info and a message is there saying the PCI device does not have drivers installed.  I tried to download all drivers from HP support website and used the online diagnosting tools which did not solve the problem.

Moreover, other software which came with the lap top such as HP assistant, MS office were also gone. I am thinking if there is a way to reset my laptop to the factory default setting, perhaps that will be the best and quickest solution. Anyone know the method doing that, please?

You're very welcome.

Try this method to get around the OS check and manually install the driver.

Go to the device manager.

Click on the PCI device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp96384.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Restart the PC and the SD card reader should work again.

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

You can also find your PC's product number by clicking on the search icon on your Windows taskbar.

Type: System Information

The System information app should show up.

Run the app and the product number of your PC will be found on the System SKU line about 1/4 of the way down on the report.

The PCI Device needs the Realtek SD card reader driver installed.

Hi:

You need this driver for the Realtek card reader (PCI Device):

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the driver provided. However it couldn't be installed. Message siad the drive does not support my OS version 10.0.19045 . It appears that the handy man intsalled a different version of OS then the original. Therefore I look for a way to restore the the factory default.

You're very welcome.

Installing this one driver and restarting the PC should install both of those devices:

Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver Windows 10

10.1.19444.8378

sp148947.exe

Thank you very much Paul, everything sorted.
