Previous message was boot device not found Please install an operating system on your hard disk.  Not sure how to move forward. As it stands the laptop is not working except for error messages.

Thanks in advance for any insight and possible solutions.

Hi,

This usually indicates that the Hard Drive has failed and needs to be replaced. You could try performing a hard drive test at boot. Turn off the PC by holding the power button. Turn on PC and continuously keep pressing ESC until the startup menu appears. Next, press F2 to enter diagnostics and perform hard drive test.

Can you provide the exact and complete model or product number (not serial) and we can take a look at how to replace the drive if necessary. Here is how to find it.

Model number

Hope it helps,

David
