I tried to factory reset as giving to family member, but now will not load,asking for windows disc,but it didnt come with one.all i have is product key...on opening screen screen it says file: \boot\BCD  Status : 0xc0000225

Please help

Hi:

 

If you can read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on the PC's case, you can make your own W7 installation media as follows...

 

Click on the Windows ISO Downloader.exe link to download the tool to create the W7 ISO file download.

 

Select the Windows COEM ISO file download for the version of W7 the product key is good for.

I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below, that will allow you to either put the file on a USB flash drive or DVD, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.

 

Then you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page...

I have tried everything to reboot , from recovery disc, from usb(which wont boot from,even when changing boot order in bios) I am at my wits end. It just keeps giving me the same error code. It was working perfectly before I factory reset including following on screen advice, I have even tried the link that you kindly gave but to no avail. I think its disgraceful that hp offer no support unless I pay them more money, I shall never ever buy from them again, and will dissuade as many as I can from doing so also, Please help
