I did a factory reset and now my machine will not boot up.  It keeps scrolling from hp logo to blank gray screen and back again.

Hello @Decona

Could you share why you decided to perform factory reset in the first place ? Did you have any issues before ?

Your recovery process has failed to complete because the recovery partition is corrupt or because there is a hardware problem now (e.g. hard disk drive issue):

TEST YOUR COMPUTER FOR HARDWARE ISSUES

1. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button (press and hold it for 5-6 seconds until the PC powers off)

2. Power it on. As soon as you press the power-on button, even with blank screen, immediately begin hitting the Esc button repeatedly (like tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Startup Menu >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSN0qzXayUY

3. Choose F2 to open System Diagnostics (or the respective F option to run diagnostics).

Follow the on-screen instructions to perform System Test >> Fast test.

If there are no system checks/no quick tests, perform Run in test

or HDD (hard disk drive) and RAM (memory) check.

Let me know the test results.

If the tests PASS without issues, you will mean that the recovery partition may be corrupted on this device. Therefore, you can reinstall Windows on this device using Microsoft methods. Create your own installation USB drive. Check the details in the enclosed PDF file (below).
