With my old HP laptop, I used file explorer to copy (drag) files (PDF, Word etc) to my Samsung tablet. This new laptop can't find the content of my tablet. When connected by USB, it recognises the tablet by its name under 'This PC' , but when I click on the device name, it says 'folder empty'. There are existing folders and files in my Samsung tablet that I want to add to from the laptop. Any help would be great.
Thanks for reading

What did it say when you copy files to it ? Did you copy file to SD card or internal storage itself ? If internal storage which folder did you copy to ?
When you connect your Samsung tablet to your computer, you should see
In my case, I've got an SD card inside my tablet (folder Card) and internal storage called Tablet. Each folder above can have many folders (sub-folders). You have to COPY to folder or sub-folder. Copy to Tablet won't go to anywhere. For example, I can copy to Documents or Download on the list

Thanks for the reply. I can’t even attempt to copy files because the existing folders and subfolders in my tablet (and its SD card) are not displayed at all in my HP laptop’s file explorer. The tablet itself displays in file exporer correctly using the name I’ve given it, but my HP laptop just doesn’t seem to ‘see’ the tablet's contents (folders etc). When you click on the device name, it just displays a blank space where you would normally drag files to. Of course, as you say, yoy can't drag files across when there are no files to drag to.

I've solved it and I feel a bit silly. I didn't notice the message on the Samsung tablet that was asking for permission to view. It never did that with my old HP laptop (this one is totally new today)
Thanks again

Well, it ONLY asks you once. You have to do the same for the next computer.
