Hello everyone,

I’ve been playing Stardew Valley on my HP Pavilion laptop (Windows 11), and lately, I’ve noticed random lag spikes and frame drops, especially when there are multiple animations on screen (like rain or festivals).

I’ve already updated my graphics drivers and reduced in-game resolution, but the issue still happens.

Just for reference, i downloaded the game from Edited which discusses how the APK version manages smoother performance.

Could anyone suggest HP-specific settings or tweaks (power, BIOS, or driver adjustments) that could improve game stability?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

@AndroidFixGuide, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you’ve done a great job reducing the resolution and updating your drivers, but the lag spikes still persist. I’ll walk you through some steps, and I'll also suggest a few general adjustments to improve performance.

HP Laptop Settings:

Power Settings:

Go to Power Options (right-click the Start menu) and select High Performance.

Make sure the Processor Power Management is set to 100%.

HP Software:

Check for updates using HP Support Assistant.

Update BIOS:

Visit the HP support website, find your laptop model, and download the latest BIOS update.

Thermal Management:

Make sure your laptop isn’t overheating (use a cooling pad or elevate the laptop for better airflow).

General Fixes:

Use Official Game Version:

Download Stardew Valley from Steam, not APK or unofficial versions. They work better and are more stable.

Close Background Apps:

Close unnecessary apps (like browsers) using Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).

Priority:

In Task Manager, right-click Stardew Valley, select Set Priority > High to give it more resources.

Windowed Mode:

Play the game in Windowed (Borderless) mode instead of Fullscreen to help with performance.

Update Libraries:

Download the latest Visual C++ Redistributables from the Microsoft website.

Reinstall Game:

If nothing works, try reinstalling the game to fix corrupted files.

Important Tip: Stick with the official version of Stardew Valley for the best performance!

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
