Microsoft Windows 11

While clean installing of Windows11 V24H2 from USB stick cannot find SSD drive. The laptop uses Intel N100 CPU and 4GB DDR SODIMM. I tried to load Intel IRST version 18.7.6.1010.3 and also Intel-IRST version 20.2.4.1019 VMD drivers, but drivers are not recognized for this laptop and SSD drive can’t be detected.

I also tried to install Windows 11 V23H2 and without any additional drivers, SSD can be detected and organized, but after installation first reboot comes the error: "Windows could not parse of process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]. The settings specified in the answer file cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Deployment].", and installation stops. When I click OK, computer reboot and it gives me the error: "Windows was unexpectedly shut down, please restart" and puts me in a loop of restarting.

Of course, I have tried the USB stick to other computers and it works perfectly. I also tried from HP web- site every possible chipset drivers that are available for Windows 11, but still the same problem. No one of them makes SSD to appear.

Any suggestion to the problem?

@Sakis11,

Apparently, Intel N100 processors don't support VMD features so your notebook doesn't recognize Intel RST VMD storage drivers.

Since your notebook came with factory-installed W11, you can use HP Cloud Recovery tool to create a bootable recovery usb drive that restores the storage drive to a factory state.

Click the link below for how to use the recovery tool.

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support

If you run the recovery tool on another PC, you'll be prompted to enter the full product number (ProdID), which you can find on the bottom cover of the notebook.
