Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I was packing up to go to class, I picked a book off of the shelf above my desk where my computer sits.  This caused a chain reaction and caused a few of my knick-knacks to fall onto my computer keyboard.  Then, when I went to put them back, I noticed that my computer screen had gone black with lines of color twitching and flickering at the top of the screen.  I panicked and tried hitting space or escape before I ultimately force shut it down by pressing and holding the power button.  From there, my computer tried and failed to restart 4 or 5 times.  I know this because the fan would start up and then immediately turn off again as I pressed and held the button to restart.  When my computer finally did restart, it started an HP BIOS update.  Everything was going okay and I thought my computer would survive, but then the progress bar stopped at 54% (at Writing new Bios Image) and it hasn't changed in roughly 2 hours.

I would try and force shut it down again, but it says in red text, "Do not shut down or remove external power from your computer during this progress."  I'm afraid that my computer froze up during the update.  I really need help.

I understand that You are unable to update the BIOS.
