HP Beats Blue Screen Issues when resetting to factory settings

Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)
I rarely used the laptop. Wanted to sell it. Followed instructions to reset to factory settings. I didn't need anything on it. While resetting, it said there was an error and couldn't finish the task. I turned it off and on. Hit F11 so I could manually do what the video said. But it is stuck in a vicious cycle telling me something like I am missing something and need to reboot. I don't know that I read a recovery disk with this so I bought one. I went through the directions but it still didn't work. Also it says it won't provide the Windows 8. What next?

HP Beats Blue Screen Issues when resetting to factory settings

Hi @Candicane303

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

May I know where did you purchase the Recovery Disk from? Was it from HP?

I would request you to contact our Phone Support for further assistance.

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

I would also suggest you run the Hard drive test to confirm the Hard drive Funtionality

- Shut down the Notebook completely
- Turn it back on, then tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup menu screen is displayed.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- Click Component test, then select Hard drive

Thank you. :)
