I am trying to verify whether or not the laptop is usable in Europe (Germany/Italy) WITHOUT using a power converter. Most power over there is 220-240 versus 100-110 in USA. Apple iPhones automatically convert. Many laptops do as well. I realize that to be safe, suing a converter is best - but they are heavier and do not often sit well in the actual outlets available in hotels. The adapters are lighter and smaller and tend to fit better. So I prefer to only need an adapter for hte plug and not one that is also a converter....
I need to know for sure whether I must a power converter/adapter -OR- whether a simple adapter will suffice. In other words, does my model HP laptop automatically adjust to the power over there or not.
THANK YOU!

Hi,
Yes it will work without a need of an adapter. Naturally the plug will be different, So either you get an adapter for the plug or buy a new cable for ac adapter (the three pronged cable which plugs into ac adapter)
If you look closely at the ac adapter which came with PC (you might need magnifying glass) it is written 100-240V.
Personally I have a computer from the US and am living in Italy.
Hope it helps,
David

Thanks! I can't read the power pack fine print, even with my glasses on! I thought it would have a sticker or something on the PC itself, but it either did not, or it has come off.
I thought it was okay, but did not want to take any chances.
Thanks again for the assist!
