I have an HP Envy laptop that reset Windows 8 after a restore from HP USB drive. How can I get a restore drive that will take it to Windows 10?

You can download W10 from the link below and make a bootable USB installation flash drive.

Download Windows 10

After you make the W10 USB flash drive, open it in Windows explorer, double-click to run the setup application and you will be able to do an in-place upgrade from W8 back to W10.

If you are asked to enter a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key option,' and Windows will upgrade and activate after you are connected to the internet since the Microsoft activation server has a record of that PC having been previously upgraded to W10.
