Hi @Rami_Envy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy laptop isn’t letting you log in, and F8 / Shift keys aren’t working, making it impossible to boot into Safe Mode — even though Wi-Fi is connected. Let’s go step-by-step to help you regain access without losing your data.

a. Perform a Hard Reset

Power off the laptop completely.

Unplug the charger and disconnect all external devices (USB, mouse, etc.).

Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Reconnect only the power cord and press the power button once to turn it on.

If it boots normally, try logging in again. If not, proceed to the next step.

b. Use the Power Menu to Enter Recovery Mode

Since F8 and Shift + Restart aren’t responding, try this alternative:

Hold the Power button to turn off the laptop.

Turn it back on and as soon as you see the HP logo, press and hold the power button again to force it off.

Repeat this 3 times — on the 4th startup, Windows should open Automatic Repair Mode.

Select:
Advanced options
Troubleshoot
Advanced options
Startup SettingsRestart
→ Press 4 or F4 to start in Safe Mode

c. If Safe Mode Still Doesn’t WorkUse Command Prompt from Recovery:

From the “Choose an option” screen → Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Command Prompt.

In Command Prompt, type:

d. System Restore (if available)

In Recovery → Troubleshoot → Advanced options → System Restore.

Select a restore point from before the issue started.

Follow the prompts — this will not delete your personal files.

e. Update BIOS/Keyboard Drivers (after login)

Once you regain access:

Go to HP Support → enter your model.

Download and install the latest BIOS and keyboard drivers.

Restart your laptop.

I hope this helps.
