A friend of mine gave me an HP Laptop 17-cn0219ng (6H1B6EA) with erased Hard Drive. During the Windows 11 Setup i tried to install the specific Hard Disk Driver (F6 Driver Section) from the current driver of the download section (sp153118.exe) is not working. The tutorials are vanished from your side and i can't get the specific f6 driver for that maschine.  Can you help me?

@Craven3,

See if the following steps will install Intel RST drivers for your notebook.

1. Use a Windows installation usb drive created with Microsoft Media Creation Tool (an ISO file-based installation usb drives may cause errors during the IRST driver installation).

2. Download Intel RST driver from the link below. Run it as administrator and follow the on-screen instructions to perform the driver extraction.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp146501-147000/sp146929.exe

3. Go to C:\SWSetup\sp146929. Double click the sp146929 folder and copy the F6 folder to the root directory of a Windows installation usb drive. The F6 folder contains IRST drivers which the installation setup needs to detect the storage drive.

4. Connect the usb drive to the notebook and boot the system from the usb drive. When asked where to install Windows, click on Load Driver -> Browse -> the usb drive in the window that opens -> the F6 folder -> OK.

5. Multiple .inf driver files may be displayed. Select one and click Next. If no driver files are displayed, uncheck the box on the bottom left corner of the screen to display drivers. Find and select an 'iaStorVD.inf ' file and click Next to load the driver.

6. If the storage drive is displayed with "unallocated space", click Next to proceed the installation.

@Craven3

If you can't clean install W11 after trying the suggestion mentioned above:

Your notebook is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which will factory reset the drive to its 'out of the box' condition.

That recovery image should include the Intel storage controller driver you need for Windows to find the drive.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you have to use the software on another PC as yours is not working, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.

Your PC's product number is 6H1B6EA#ABD

Thanks for your help, doesn't work for me. I've inserted an HDD on the HDD Slot and installed windows there. In windows the driver worked and i could use the M2 SSD.

I thought your notebook had an Intel Core 11th gen processor, but HP parts list indicates your model has a Celeron N4120 processor.

The Celeron N4120 does not support Intel VMD (Volume Management Device) feature so the F6 folder doesn't work that contains Intel RST VMD storage controller drivers, which are designed for Intel Core 11th-13th processors.

If the storage drive is not detected during the Windows installation, the best way to install Windows successfully is to use HP Cloud Recovery tool.
