My HP Notebook 15s-fq1003na switched itself off while I was using it and now won't come back on. There is a "standby" or power light on the rigjthand side of the laptop that is constantly blinking on and off with a white light. If i plug in the adapter, the light next to the power cable blinks white and orange. I've tried to hold down the power on button for up to 60 seconds but nothing happens. The screen is completely black and there are no sounds or signs of life from the Notebook. Very frustrating as it's 2 years old and has had very light usage.
Would appreciate any suggestions on anything else I can try. Failing that any advice on where to get it repaired and likely cost would be appreciated. It is out of warranty but I'm hoping HP has a reasonable paid service aftercare that I can send it off to?

Hello @Scookar
Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.
Please follow official HP procedure ...
(1) Power reset notebook with a non-removable battery:
- Turn off the computer.
- Disconnect the AC adapter.
- Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.
- Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.
- With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the <power> button
for approximately 15 seconds.

Hello. Thanks for your suggestion. I tried it but there is no sign of life from the notebook.
I disconnected the power cable and all peripherals. The white light on the right of the notebook continues to blink. I held the power key down for 15 seconds and then I plugged in the power cable and tried to switch it on but there is no sign of life. As soon as i plug the power in, the light on the left side of the laptop starts blinking white and orange.

Hello @Scookar
(1) The internal battery could be short-circuited. Ask a friend/neighbor/acquaintance who knows computers well to help you to disconnect the internal battery.
Follow Maintenance and Service Guide
Page 30 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures for authorized service provider parts
(2) Try to power on notebook without battery.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've followed the instructions and removed the battery. When the ac adapter is plugged back in, the laptop still fails to start. The power supply light on the left hand side is now blinking on and off with a white light (instead of white and orange) and the standby light on right hand side continues to blink with a white light.
No noises or signs of life when i press the power button or give it a long press (10 secs)
So that means it's not the battery that is the problem? Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Hello @Scookar
You could check with a multimeter if the charger plug, which (normally) is connected to the notebook, has a given output voltage (DC in V). If this is not the case, a new charger must be purchased.

Thanks. I've tried using the adapter from my other notebook with this one and I get the same result. So i don't think the charger is faulty. Also the white light on the right side of the laptop had continued to blink for 3 days now which would suggest the laptop has power.

My options are exhausted...
Recommendation and solution
HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support for service repair
HP warranty expired:
You should have it serviced by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.
Alternative:
If it can't be repaired or replacing the motherboard is too expensive, you should buy another notebook.
Good luck
