@Matpro2k24, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Error Code 0XFFEE16 on HP OmniBook X Laptop 14-fe0013dx!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Error code 0XFFEE16 encountered during an operating system installation using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool typically indicates a problem with the recovery process or the recovery media. Here are steps you can take to attempt resolving this issue:

Check your Internet Connection:

  • Ensure that your computer has a stable and active Internet connection during the recovery process. For best results, consider using a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi.

Reformat the USB Flash Drive:

  • If you are using a USB flash drive with the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, make sure it is properly formatted and has no additional data. The drive needs to be blank with a minimum of 32 GB.

Check for Known Issues with the Tool:

  • Sometimes error codes can be due to temporary issues with the HP Cloud Recovery Tool. Ensure you are using the latest version available from the Microsoft Store.

Verify Product ID and System Compatibility:

Adjust BIOS Settings:

  • Restart your computer and during boot, press f10 to enter the BIOS setup. Verify that boot order and settings are configured to prioritize USB booting.

Try Alternative Recovery Methods:

  • If the error persists, you might need to use alternative recovery methods such as manually downloading and installing the operating system from HP's website or requesting physical recovery media.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
