my laptop has been not working for 2 weeks it says HP PC hardware Diagnostics UEFI

I understand your HP laptop has not been working for 2 weeks and is showing the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI screen. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Run System Diagnostics

On the UEFI screen, select Diagnostics → System Tests.

Run Quick Test first. If it fails, run Extensive / Long Test to check for hardware issues like RAM, hard drive, or motherboard problems.

 

Check Boot Order

In UEFI, go to Settings → Boot Options → Boot Order.

Make sure your primary hard drive or SSD is listed as the first boot device.

If the boot device is missing, your hard drive may not be detected.

 

Reset BIOS / UEFI Settings

Select Restore Defaults or Reset BIOS in UEFI.

Save and restart. Sometimes incorrect BIOS settings can prevent normal boot.

 

Perform Hard Reset

Turn off the laptop and unplug the power adapter.

Remove the battery if removable.

Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Reconnect power and try starting the laptop.
