My laptop all of a sudden has displayed some issues. First of all, the brightness won't lower or rise when I press the buttons. I have tried using the taskbar and the settings, but it looks like it is locked and won't change when I click on it. I also noticed that on the power options, the "sleep" option is gone and only shutdown and restart is displayed. I have not ever ran into these problems. Can someone explain to me why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Thank you

Greetings @aprasad

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are facing multiple issues with your computer. Don't worry, I will be glad to help.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your own?

Recommend you to run a system test on your computer. Click here for assistance.

To run a system test.

Shut down the computer.

Turn the computer ON and keep tapping ESC or F2 to get the startup menu and select system diagnostics.

In system diagnostics, you have an option to run a system test on the computer.

Once all the test pass.

Restart the computer, run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated. Click here

Also, make sure all the Windows updates are installed.

If the issue persists, please do a Windows push button reset. Refer to this HP Article for assistance.

Thank you for replying but I figured out a way to fix it. I had to update the BIOS and all the issues were fixed.
