HP Pavilion 15 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

For a few months now my laptop has been struggling to start. It had been very temperamental in the sense that you would have to keep holding on/off for 10 - 15 times before it would boot and then it would work fine until it went to sleep and you'd have to manually restart it. I've not used it in a couple weeks and now it's even harder to start. When I finally manage to get it to turn on it gives me Windows Troubleshooting options such as 'use different operating system', repair, restore, use USB etc. None of which will work as it just turns the screen to black after a while. It's not even 3 years old yet!!

I've had the message 'the selected boot device failed' which then took me in to a setup utility. The system failure log just has '090B' alongside about 20 times that this failure must have occured. Any idea how to solve this?
