HP Pavilion g4-1318dx SSD upgrade

Pavilion g4-1318dx
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am trying to upgrade my Pavilion g4-1318dx  (Bios - Insyde Ver F42) from the original hard drive to an SDD .  The new SDD is a PNY CS900.

I have tried the following setups for the SSD with no success.  All result in the SSD not being recoginized on boot-up (No boot device found).

Image original hard drive with Acronis and restore to SSD

Image original hard drive with Windows backup and restore to SSD

New Windows 7 install to the SSD using the HP recovery CDs

Manually create partitions on SSD and clone each using EaseUS Partition Master 12.10

The original hard drive has 4 partitions - System (200MB), Local (274GB), Recovery (19GB) and HP_Tools (4GB)

Is there some SSD initialization I am missing?  Maybe the SSD isn't compatable with the laptop?  I checked the bios and found nothing there about hard drives.

Thanks

Glenn

@mogulman7

If, when you reboot the PC with only the SSD connected, and go into the BIOS and it does not see the SSD, then that model is not compatible with your PC.
