When I press and or hold the start button to come on it comes does not stay on.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

 

Is the AC Adapter connected and working?

 

Try running an System Test and check

 

- Shut down the Notebook completely
- Turn it back on, then tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup menu screen is displayed.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- Click System Tests

 

If the Notebook shuts down or if you are unable to get to the Diagnostic Test, please contact HP Support for Service Options

 

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/ 
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device. 
4) Select the country from the drop-down. 
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
