I opened a ticket with HP to request a repair. They then sent me a quote of around €400 for the replacement of the motherboard, which I refused because I don't intend to pay for HP's mistakes. They don't want to know anything because my PC is no longer under warranty, leaving the consumer to pay for the damage caused by HP. I find this unacceptable for professional machines. At this point, I can no longer trust HP, especially with the updates they provide.

Dears,
I am still waiting for a solution.
Now, I am out of device and can't do my regular jobs. Hope somebody helps me.

@Alikhani: This is the file that I used (I grabbed it on the badcaps forums).

Now it seems you already attempted as I can see from your post on the other thread and I thank you for your feedback.

Flashing the BIOS chip with this particular BIOS file might not be enough in the end, as it might be too old, as you said. It looks like I was extremely lucky with my first attempt where flashing that BIOS was enough (almost) to revive the machine. Some of us have to experiment a little more by trying to flash the EC chip too, to see if there's some change (an EC chip dump is also included in what I linked above).

I wonder if there's a way to extract the true binary BIOS files from the encrypted ones included in the update files that HP provide. So far, I haven't been able to find another binary dump for this particular model. And decrypting methods found on the internet don't seem to work for BIOS updates for this machine.

@Dioxaz: I used both files are listed here. I wrote the Bios file to the Bios and the CE file to the chip was close to bios (just beside the Bios) using CH341 connected to PC by clipper and using the Neo-programmer software.
I did it two times. First the chip was read,  second it cleaned, third opened related file and finally wrote to chip.
Again, No Answer. When starting up the laptop "Caps-lock and NumLock" flashing together for 5 times, flashing happens in 5 second delays. Then after almost 30 seconds fan starts working very noisy, fan not stopping and no other thing happens with laptop.
I am providing the feedback, may be help to find the solution. Hope the solution found sooner....

Hello, here's another one affected.
My computer was updated and transformed into a paperweight.
Has anyone found a solution?

I have exactly the same problem reported by one of the enterprise user on 31st May 2024 who uses 'HP EliteBook 650 15.6 inch G9 Notebook PC'.  The HP tech visited onsite for support due to the device is under warranty, but he said it had 2 RAM cards in it and one of them is not HP Authorized and he removed it and the device works fine after that but just on 8GB at the moment, so the device is slow for us. We are investigating with the vendor who supplies the laptops for us. Not sure if it helps.

I can confirm this bug on multiple HP Probook 455 G7

My two month old zbook firefly g10 is now a silver paper weight after firmware update for docking station the day before. Nothing. Won't turn on. Won't recognise the power adapter. Dead. ☠️

Probook 455 G7: Same problem after automatic Bios Update coming together with a Windows update the 26. Mai. Supoort is so sorry but no help because out of warranty. Finally i found a specialised magazine who could replace the dead Bios-Chip . It should be HP who pays  the bill. Think this has been my last HP.
