Hi, I have HP 15-bs289wm touchscreen notebook.I tried restoring the system to factory settings. But after resetting the system, it gets stuck at 64% windows installation even after 3 days. I tried it again after taking the battery out and doing the system diagnostic tests (all passed) but still it stuck to 64%. Kindly help me out as soon as possible.

Hi:

See if you can reinstall W10 by creating a bootable recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool.

Here is an info link for how to use the tool...

I tried the link you suggested in you reply but I got the message " This computer is not supported by the System Recovery Media. You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these Media. Error: 0100-84D4-863A,863B,863C,863D,8638,8639."

Sorry that didn't work.

Your only other option would be to clean install W10...

Create installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

Thank You it worked this way. I was able to install the Win 10 but it seems its not the same as the previous one.

Hi @Abdullah66,

A clean install is an Operating System (OS) installation that overwrites all other content on the hard disk. Unlike a typical OS upgrade, a clean install removes the current operating system and user files during the installation process. When a clean install finishes, the hard disk only contains the new operating system, similar to a computer that is used for the first time.

If you have personal data and files that you want to save, back them up to an external hard drive, USB thumb drive, SD card, or cloud location so that you can recover them after reinstalling Windows 10. Otherwise, all information including apps, settings and personal files on system partitions are deleted and you will reinstall the system from scratch.

You're very welcome.

You will have to install whatever programs and drivers are available on the support page.

It is the same version of W10 that came with your PC but isn't the HP factory image.

All I can say is that what you have now is better than having an expensive paperweight.
