HP Notebook - 14-df0013ds
Microsoft Windows 10 IOT

I’ve owned an HP 14 notebook since about October 2018 and generally have not had any problems with it ever since. However, yesterday when I went to boot up my computer it was stuck on a permanent black screen with the caps lock key blinking repeatedly.

I waited a few minutes to retry and was able to successfully get my computer working again, so I just assumed it was an accident. Last night I attempted to boot up my PC once again and found myself stuck at that same black screen. Now I’ve been unable to boot up the computer all morning.

Is there any way to get my laptop successfully working again? I don’t currently have the funds to buy another laptop or take my current one to be repaired, and I know my warranty is way past it’s expiration date. A cost effective method would be ideal.

Please try a hard reset and see if it works.

   1. Power off your laptop
   2. Remove the a/c adapter, battery and everything that is attached to your laptop.
   3. Hold the 'POWER' button down on your laptop for about 10 seconds.
   4. Plug in the a/c power supply (without battery) and power on.

Regards.
