After a Windows Update the HP support Assistant application no longer works for "Run diagnostic hardware" and reports "The Windows Event Log Service must be running". I called Microsoft but they didn't fix the problem

Let me check your basic system configuration before we continue ...

 

(1) Run    msinfo32

- Select <System Summary>:

--->>> Copy/screenshot/paste following key/value pairs:
