ELITE BOOK HP2530P [serial number removed]
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ultimately from time to time, when I turned on my HP2530p lap-top (long tim since migrated from the original Win 7/64 to Windows 10/64) I receive the communication of possible Bios corrupt, with a prayer to press the key enter. Done this the computer starts normally without problems.

My question is: Can you tell me if my 2530p would warn me in case of such RTC battery low, and  how?

If it were not such a problem of low battery, I wonder if I would like to fix this BIOS problem ( maybe at last downloading the bios of that machine from your support (if still valid), and install it)

Thank You very much

Giulio Tiberini (Italy)

Sorry, but I don't have very good news for you ...

Most likely, if your CMOS battery fails, you will not get any notice about that.

Also, HP does not produce Win10 BIOSs for PCs that came with Win7 preloaded, and you can't run a Win7 BIOS upgrade under Win10.  So basically, you are stuck with the current BIOS version.

Thanks Wawood of your answer certainly welcome as a solution (unfortunately imagined) to my problem.

In fact, I perceive from your writing as a volunteer, a person who is understandably impassioned, and therefore for me absolutely authoritative.

My old Hp 2530p (which for "seniority" I have already had to replace the fan twice), is still a wonderfully built machine also internally, as indeed were all the Hp machines that (mostly thanks to the free paper of services documentaions),  both as a technician and as a user, I have always had, having become a fan of this very prestigious brand, from my first Pc Vectra QS / 16s of 1989.

Then one big " Grazie & ciao" from Italy

I update you on what at the moment seems to have fixed the problem:

I doubt that the warn I received every time I turned on or defrost my HP2539p  - -"Corrupted BIOS Error 501" -- could be caused (for this old machine)  by the low RTC battery, I replaced it, and until now the error is disappeared.

(On the old battery I have measured just 3, 00 Volts instead of the obout 3,5 v. that normally have a new 2032 lythium battery))

I write that In the hope that it may be useful to someone having this old machine in my same conditions, I thank you and greet you cordially
Giulio Tiberini
