@Green51, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the Hewlett-Packard - USB - 11/11/2018 - 49.0.4395.18315 update keeps failing on your HP Notebook 15-da1003no running Windows 11, it usually means the update is either incompatible, outdated, or incorrectly being pushed via Windows Update.
Here's how you can resolve this:
Hide the problematic update
- Download the official Microsoft "Show or Hide Updates" Troubleshooter tool.
- Run the tool and choose "Hide updates."
- Find and select "Hewlett-Packard - USB..." from the list.
- Finish the wizard. This will prevent it from reinstalling or attempting again.
Manually uninstall or block USB drivers
- Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager.
- Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Look for any entry with "HP" or the word "Unknown Device".
- Right-click and choose Uninstall device. Check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device" if available.
- Restart your PC.
Run HP Support Assistant
- Download and install the HP Support Assistant from here. This tool can help you find and install the latest drivers for your notebook.
Check Windows Update
- Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates
Optional: Pause updates temporarily
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Pause updates for 1 week or more.
- This gives you time to stop the loop and make other fixes.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
