@kamilomi, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP device is not displaying the BIOS and you only get a black screen with the power light on, it suggests potential issues either with the BIOS settings or the hardware connectivity. Here are steps to troubleshoot the situation and attempt to access the BIOS to reinstall Windows:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off your computer completely.
  • Disconnect any external peripherals (USB devices, printers, etc.)
  • Unplug the power cable and remove the battery if applicable.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cable, but do not connect any peripherals yet.
  • Power the computer back on.

Try to Access BIOS:

  • As soon as you see the HP logo or even before any display appears, start repeatedly pressing the appropriate key for entering BIOS setup. This is typically F10, Esc, or Delete, depending on the HP model.
  • If these do not work, you can also try F2 or F12.

Check Connections:

  • Open your computer and ensure all hardware components like RAM, CPU, GPU, and hard drives are securely connected.
  • Reseat the RAM and other components if necessary.

Clear CMOS:

  • If you still can't access BIOS, consider clearing the CMOS to reset the BIOS to default settings. This can usually be done by removing and reinserting the CMOS battery after a few seconds. Please consult your specific HP model’s manual for detailed instructions.

Use BIOS Recovery:

Use UEFI Boot:

  • If your device supports UEFI, try accessing the UEFI boot menu by holding F9 as you turn on the computer.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
