my HP envy X360 14 inch has a thunderbolt port but thunderbolt does not seem to be in the bios or the system devices. The laptop does not see my thunderbolt universal audio Apollo twin interface. I thought I might have to enable something in the bios but I can’t find anything in there to enable thunderbolt. am I correct In thinking this 14 inch laptop does not have thunderbolt enabled on the motherboard and that the thunderbolt sign on the side is only for mini display and power through the USB C socket?

Really annoying that in the spec it says thunderbolt, the port shows thunderbolt, yet it isnt thunderbolt. When is HP gonna address this and stop misleading their customers?

 

great response tho, I appreciate your thorough feedback. I had come to the same conclusion, but what a waste of time. If only HP were clearer from the off.

Unfortunately, some models include the port for USB-C with DisplayPort and charging, but lack the Thunderbolt controller required for full Thunderbolt functionality.
