I've had this Hp pavilion 360 laptop for 6 years now. Suddenly this morning it won't turn on. I thought I just didn't turn it off and it died. So I plugged it in and after a bit it still won't turn on. The light that tells you it's plugged in is the only light on the laptop. Nothing else is turning on. I've tried the things I've looked up online and nothing is working. What do I do? Is it just done for?

@PumpkinBrat1031, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I understand how stressful it is when a laptop that’s worked for years suddenly won’t power on. Based on your description, the laptop only shows the charging light and nothing else happens, which indicates a power or motherboard-related issue. Let’s go through the steps to troubleshoot this thoroughly.

Perform a Hard Reset

Disconnect the laptop from the charger.

Remove any connected peripherals (USB devices, external drives, etc.).

If the battery is removable, take it out. If it isn’t, just leave it connected to AC.

Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds to discharge any residual power.

Reconnect the charger (and battery if removed) and try powering on.

Check for LED or Beep Codes

HP laptops give blink codes or beep patterns to indicate hardware issues.

Observe the LED carefully when pressing the power button and note any patterns.

Also, i suggest you refer to this guide for further troubleshooting steps: HP PCs - Computer does not turn on, start, or boot | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
