Hi @KellyBundy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding resetting your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're experiencing issues with low disk space on your HP 11 notebook while trying to perform a factory reset, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Free Up Space

  1. Delete Unnecessary Files: Remove any personal files, documents, music, videos, and photos to free up space.
  2. Uninstall Unused Applications: Go to the Control Panel and uninstall applications that you no longer use or need.
  3. Temporary and Cache Files:: Use Disk Cleanup to remove temporary files and system caches:
    • Open the Start menu, search for "Disk Cleanup," select the drive you want to clean, and follow the prompts.

Use USB Drive for Recovery

If you are unable to free up enough space, you can perform the factory reset using a USB drive:

  1. Create Recovery Disk: If you have access to another computer, you can download the HP recovery software and create a bootable USB recovery drive.
  2. Boot from USB: Insert the USB drive into your HP notebook, restart the computer, and use the Boot Menu (usually accessible by pressing F9 or Esc) to boot from the USB.

External Storage Options

  • Move Files Temporarily: Consider temporarily moving important files to an external hard drive or cloud storage to make space for the reset.

Factory Reset from BIOS

If those options do not work, you may need to access recovery options from the BIOS settings:

  1. Restart the computer and press F11 repeatedly until the System Recovery screen appears.
  2. Follow the instructions to perform a reset directly from the recovery partition.

I hope this helps.
