@Benoulas,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are looking for a code to unlock the Bios. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Did you try to contact our HP phone support for assistance?

As I understand there is either a message - "Power on password/Administrator password/System disabled" on your screen and you need assistance with the same,

You would have to Contact HP for a hardware service as the motherboard may require a tattoo/Bios Flash.

Any other way of unlocking the BIOS is not authorized by HP.

In this scenario, I will share you a private message with details. Please watch your inbox for more information.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

The harddisk is crashed. I placed a new one. Now i want to reinstall windows(usb) and i have to change the boot options in the bios for that.  Thats all. But what a hassle to get this done at Hp.

@Benoulas,

I'm glad you pointed out as I missed read it from the previous post, Don't worry I'll do my best to help you.

Let me go ahead and rephrase it so that I get it correct. The hard drive crashed and you have got a replacement hard drive.

Now you have USB recovery media, and unfortunately you are not able to boot to the Bios screen as its stuck on "Power on Password" screen.

If this is the scenario, then the only option would be to Contact HP for a hardware service as the motherboard may require a tattoo/Bios Flash.

Please follow the instructions over the private message and I'm sure they should be able to go ahead and address your issue.

Take care now and do have a fabulous week ahead. 🙂
Regards,
