HP Envy x 360 convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Everyone!

      I have an HP Envy x 360 convertible and cant get into my bios. Locked out with code A [2E32F45E].

I have tried everything I could online, including the bios-pw.org site. I get a code but there is no way to back out to enter it. If I reboot the just laptop generates a new code after the one they give doesnt work. My Windows 10 installation has been trashed and I want to reinstall from a flash drive but it wont let me unless I have the administrator password. Very frustrating indeed!

  Thanks so much for any help

@Atari400800

We're talking about different issues.

The admin password is totally different from any BIOS password -- so getting into the BIOS will do nothing for resetting an admin password -- as the second protects Windows and the first protects the hardware.

Since this is your PC, I don't understand why you don't have the admin password -- as you would have set that up during initial setup. If your PC reset your password on you, we can not help in that because we have no access to either the original or the new password.

Also, if the BIOS is password protected, there is no way that YOU can reset that.

We are not permitted to assist in resetting passwords because HP considers that a violation of customer privacy. HP can assist in resetting passwords but if your original warranty has expired, they will charge you for the assistance.
--------------------
For Admin password resets, you have to contact your regional HP Customer Support location directly for assistance.

--------------------
For BIOS or power-on password resets, because the password is encoded onto a chip on the motherboard, replacement of that motherboard is required. For more information, read this HP thread: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06368824.

If you are not prepared to spend the money to get HP to replace the motherboard, you would have to take the PC to a local repair facility to see if they can do it for you -- we can not assist in that in any way.
