I lost my Windows 10 license key

HP 14-cf0014nc
Linux

Hello, when i bought new laptop i bought it with win 10. I reinstalled it to Linux and now i would like to use dual boot on one interna HDD. But i lost my win 10 license key from Windows that was installed on laptop when i bought it. Thx for any help

If In understand you correctly, you REPLACED Windows with Linux, right? So, the problem you are going to face is that Windows product key utilities only run in Windows, so you can not use them in Linux to retrieve your product key.

 

That said, since your PC originally came with Windows preinstalled, it should already be registered with MS running Win10; so, if you reinstall Win10, when you later connect to the Internet, it will contact the MS Activation servers and you should then be reactivated without problems.  So, basically, you won't then need your Windows product key.
