HP Recommended

I bought my son a chromebook last year in aug from best buy online, the serial numger faded from the bottom of laptop and i cant access it from the notebook due to a boot loop, best buy wasnt much help they cant get me the serial number, i have digital reciept as proof of purchase can anuyone help me out how to get this sorted
